One
morning, light came to my bedroom door;
It
went right through the little cracks of cedar.
Like heavens bright, a silk-warm
overthrow,
Conjuring love, a ravishing
mind reader!
I didn't move, just hugged my
pillows tight,
“Please, go away!” I thought in
desperation…
“I want to sleep: I played beyond midnight
With
words and rhymes; I’m spent, I have no patience!”
He
said: “no way! I want you ever more!
For now, I’ll go… and play with rain, for
instance;
Then, back – to see the one whom I
adore:
All bathed and groomed, and
ready for insistence”.
I raised my head from pillows: “you
are on!
You woke me up with words of love so
tender!
Come in and stay! I’m giving in; you won!
Let’s
make some coffee, have a day of splendor! “
We
ate and prayed, watched goofy fairy-tales;
Drove to the park, went for a walk
together;
Then – far away, to countryside’s
wild trails,
Despite the rainy warnings of
the weather!
I was so glad he stayed and gave
me grace!
He made my day so warm and bright,
and clear!
And now, each morn, I wait for his first
rays,
Awake
in love, when he approaches near.
